The home has recently been upgraded and provides a beautiful stylish lounge with stunning views of the landscaped gardens. An amazing conservatory with its graceful chandelier and decorative plants, provides an ideal meeting place where residents can read the papers or have a catch up over a cup of coffee. There is also a quiet room for those who wish to take advantage of the library or would like a peaceful area to sit with friends and family.
There is a choice of two absolutely stunning dining rooms for residents to use that befit the grandeur of the home. Residents can enjoy graceful dining, delicious home cooked meals with a glass of wine (if they wish) in this most splendid setting. The menu is varied with locally sourced fresh vegetables and supplies. Homemade biscuits and cakes are the order of the day and residents are free to have a choice of meals and snacks when they wish. A full cooked breakfast is always available every day up until 10am for those that would like it. All special diets can be catered for.
Bedrooms are generally large, well appointed and most have an en suite. Most of the rooms have fabulous views over the gardens where a multitude of wildlife can be observed.
The large landscaped gardens are level, safe and provide a peaceful setting for residents to walk and explore or just sit and soak up the beauty and observe the birds and deer that frequent the garden.
We have a full time activities coordinator who ensures there is a comprehensive choice of fulfilling activities for our residents. Choices such as indoor and outdoor golf, massage, pampering sessions, book club, pub lunches, theatre trips, trips to garden centres, gardening, cooking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, quizzes, musical afternoons and evenings, farm experience, prayer meetings, movement to music and much more. The residents have formed an activities group and meet once a month to discuss future activity plans. The activities coordinator will be happy to discuss the social needs of you and your loved ones.
Your opinion is important to us. Our residents hold a meeting every month where opinions are sought and decisions are made by those attending. Relatives meetings are held and we have regular social events to which relatives are invited providing a chance to meet and communicate in a social setting.
Residents will be supported by friendly, experienced and professional staff who are highly trained in all aspects of care. We do as a home specialise in dementia care but are fully able and equipped to meet a multitude of care needs. Our recruitment process is rigorous and we are careful to ensure only the very best staff are selected - staff with a firm commitment to exceptional care who believe wholeheartedly in the individuality of each resident and promote their freedom of choice. The majority of our staff are trained to at least level 3 NVQ in care but we also have staff trained to level 4 and 5. Training of staff is a priority for us and many additional courses are undertaken above expected mandatory training.
The manager is an experienced registered nurse with the required registered manager’s qualifications, an NVQ assessor and also holds the 'Train the Trainer' qualification.
Visiting and family contact is encouraged and there are no restrictions. New prospective clients are welcome to visit the home for viewing or to have a trial stay. All prospective residents have a full assessment of their support needs prior to coming to Forest Brow to ensure we can meet their care needs and expectations.
We have a 5 star kitchen inspection and a good CQC report. We have an excellent working relationship with the regulatory bodies to ensure we are compliant in all areas of care. We welcome discussion, take complaints seriously and act promptly to any issues raised. This with our open door policy allows for transparency in the service we provide.
