The staff are either trained RGN or carers trained in various levels of care to meet needs of the resident and regulatory compliance. All staff are regularly updated in care training.
The home offers an extensive activities program that includes - scrabble, reading sessions, arts and crafts, reminiscence an outside trip to the garden centre, the beachside café , the New Forest, theatre and shopping services.
Visiting and family contact is encouraged and there are no restrictions. New prospective clients are welcome to visit the home for viewing or to have a trial stay. All prospective residents have a full assessment of their support needs prior to coming to Newtown House to ensure we can meet their care needs and expectations.
We have a 5 star kitchen inspection and a good CQC report. We have an excellent working relationship with the regulatory bodies to ensure we are compliant in all areas of care. We welcome discussion, take complaints seriously and act promptly to any issues raised. This with our open door policy allows for transparency in the service we provide.
Newtown House hold a resident's meeting lead by residents, where opinions are sought and decisions are made by those attending. We have regular social events to which relatives are invited and give us and you a chance to meet and communicate in a social setting.
